Draw Hope

Bob and Roberta Smith's Draw Hope pavilion is an outdoor gallery and art-making space sited on the green outside Chatham Library, right on the River Medway as it sweeps its way to the Thames.

A space to make and view art, everyone is invited to come and make their mark on the pavilion by drawing directly onto the walls of the structure, and through workshops with Bob & Roberta Smith and six local artists.

Developing gradually over the three weeks of the festival, the pavilion will become a collective portrait of Chatham, focusing on how we retain hope and love during major events such as the pandemic and climate change, which have such global and personal resonance.

The pavilion is open everyday throughout the festival. You can also join one of our workshops, led by Medway artists. Find out more about the workshops here.

This work is a co-commission with Medway Council.
