An exhibition on the history of the Thames sailing barge and its association with Southend.
The Exhibition is open Wednesday to Sunday.
The Thames Sailing Barge Trust is a registered charity which owns and operates two historic Thames sailing barges from its base at Maldon. The organisation was set up as a club in 1948 and in 2008 became a registered charity. The sailing barges Centaur (built 1895 and Pudge (built 1922) are both on the Historic Ships register. Centaur and Pudge are also Dunkirk Little Ships.
The Trust's aim and objectives are to keep these iconic vessels sailing but also to educate the general public including children about their history and also to keep the skills of sailing the alive, through training new skippers and mates.
