Selena Chandler is an Essex born artist whose practice is strongly grounded in place, drawing on social histories, the labour of domestic and traditional crafts and the valuing of local knowledges.
Working with materials gathered in a particular location Selena's work includes basketry, stitch, knotting, word and performance and includes the sharing of skills and stories.
Selena was an Associate Artist for Estuary 2021 and her work has been recognised by organisations including Metal Southend, Basketmakers' Association, Firstsite Collectors' Group and Studio459tomar.
