The Water Replies

Mass participation from Estuary residents is underway with the journaling and creative writing project, The Water Replies. 450 volunteer journallers have been capturing life by the Estuary with words and images since March 2020. The feeling of connection to the Estuary and among participants has given the project heightened significance and importance for many during lockdown.

Among many opportunities for people of all ages and all walks of life to get involved, our large-scale programme, The Water Replies, asks for poetry and prose responses from those who live along the banks of the Estuary. Led by poets Caroline Bird and Selina Nwulu, 450 journals and over 1,000 poetic responses will be shared through exhibition, public posters and performance.
