Founded in 2008, Cohesion Plus was formed out of the ongoing advocacy work being done by its sister organisation, the Kent Equality Cohesion Council. Cohesion Plus delivers culturally diverse community festivals and melas, championing shared British values and celebrating all that binds us together, rather than what divides us.
The organisation’s aim is to promote community relations in Kent, bringing communities together through the arts, public education and sport. As well as promoting equality legislation for all protected characteristics, Cohesion Plus also produces cross genre music, dance and visual performances, commissioning artists from BAME and low socio-economic backgrounds.
