Lydia Brockless

Lydia Brockless

Lydia Brockless is an artist working across sculpture, print, drawing, text, conversations and participation. Her work is about Survival In Harsh Conditions. She is interested in geomorphological processes and what these tell us about time, growth and resilience. Recently she has been exploring the role that text plays in thinking about sculpture, and vice versa.

In tying together the real and the imaginary, she investigates the relationship between interior and exterior worlds; retelling and processing currents of tenderness and unease, utilising negative space and combinations of specific materials to interfere and rearrange, her work is as much about what is not there as it is about what is there.
