Jon Blackwood

Jon Blackwood

Jon Blackwood is a reader in contemporary art at Gray's School of Art, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. His research is based on the interactions of regionalism, peripherality, national identity, and contemporary art. Jon has also worked extensively in the former Yugoslavia and post-Soviet spaces considering notions of cultural ecology and post-socialist transition. His new text on the artwork of Elsa James is the result of an ongoing conversation on the artist's studio practice since 2019.
