Educated at the Universities of Jerusalem, London and Cambridge, has has directed archaeological fieldwork in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. He is currently undertaking maritime archaeology work in Devon and in the Caribbean. He is a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London.
