Iain McKell

Iain McKell is a portrait, social documentary and fashion photographer

His books include 'Beautiful Britain: Photographs from the 1970s to the Present' (Prestel 2012); 'The New Gypsies'  (Prestel 2011) photographing this nomadic British subculture over 10 years; 'Fashion Forever: 30 Years of Subculture' (Thames & Hudson 2004).

His self-published book SUB CULTURE (1979) repackaged as a limited edition with a signed print sold out at the 2015 Los Angeles Book Fair.

He has shown his work in various galleries including The Photographer's Gallery, The Fashion Space Gallery and the Clic Gallery New York and has led photography Salons at The Serpentine Gallery and Whitechapel Gallery.

His work has appeared on the front covers of Vogue, i-D and The Face among many others and in all the leading press including The New York Times.
In 2016 he collaborated with Massive Attack on their EP cover: Ritual Spirit.

Iain's photographers will be exhibited on the Southend Pier under the title Infinity (1980-2015).
