Nicola White

Tideline Art is a project by Nicola White inspired by mudlarking finds collected along the banks of the Rivers Thames and Medway. It's about giving new life to discarded objects and bringing their history back to life.
On moving to London several years ago, Nicola White started mudlarking (foraging along the Thames foreshore). There is an abundance of social history to be found scattered along the banks of the river - including glass, pottery, clay pipes and myriad fragments of metal. Some of these pieces are many hundreds of years old, and hold their own individual secret story. It’s the mystery of these stories and unravelling them that inspires Nicola White

See a selection of Nicola's finds during our Shorelines event.
